See the world + save a life.
Love + adventure combined.
Temple Dog Rescue is a Canadian registered not-for-profit dedicated to saving lives of stray dogs in Nepal. We rescue, provide medical care, short-term shelter, and relocate them to homes internationally.
Temple Dog Rescue
Rescue, rehabilitation, and homing stray dogs has been at the core of Temple Dog since its inception in 2018. Temple Dog specializes in finding homes for Nepali dogs that can no longer survive on the street. We partner with local Nepali rescue organizations, veterinarians, shelters and independent rescuers and manage complex logistics to find our dogs a loving home.
As part of our programs in Nepal TDR funds animal birth control, and mange treatments, for dogs that will be returned to the street after recovery.
Temple Doghouse Project
Temple Doghouse is a flagship project serving remote mountain communities of Nepal.. Each “doghouse” is a home base or temporary camp built to serve Himalayan villages within a few days walk from one another and will store food and medical supplies for animals, and host veterinary and ABC camps. Our doghouses are built on the principles that knowledge and training passed down by example provides a highly effective learning experience for human and animal.
Temple Dog RED
RED is an acronym for Research, Education and Development. We believe that change is led by example and our programs address the relationship between humans and animals in the nucleus of their lives, the home. We teach skills to dog owners and dogs, to improve the understanding, communication and trust between them.
Temple Dog also leads media campaign creation in Nepal, creating messaging to benefit dogs and humans, to relieve suffering, educate about dog care and nutrition, and provide educational resources to local people.
“A dog with a home has the benefit of being disease free.”
